From the beginning of September to the end of October, visitors can enjoy a wide choice of gastronomic treats, showcasing the agricultural and wine products of this scenic region of southern Québec. By following the " Route des Vins ", a themed wine country route, vacationers can enjoy the attractions along the way, revelling in the glorious colors of fall. Tourisme Cantons-de-l'Est guarantees that vacationers will have a terrific time this fall - not least because the region is staging more than 40 lively events, each one more colorful than the next. Visitors can slow down to the relaxed rhythm of the locals and discover the many charming villages scattered around the picturesque countryside. The specially designated Wine Route offers visits to 12 vineyards, mainly in the Dunham region. Each site in wine country features cultural activities to enrich your discovery of the vineyard, with antique shops and treasures also scattered along the route. Get to know the Townships by visiting our museums and historic sites, and enjoy the hundred-odd seasonal festivals that take place in our picturesque towns. This summer, discover the vineyards of the Eastern Townships and take breathtaking back roads on the Wine Route, following designated tourist signs placed every 10 kilometres along the circuit. Stretching over 132 kilometres, the Route travels through wine country which represents some of the region’s most beautiful towns and countryside. In the tradition of the Whale Route and the Explorers’ Route, the Wine country will amaze you! Located in the Brome-Missisquoi region, the Route takes visitors to 11 different vineyards, and is the first wine route in Quebec, joining the province’s other major marked tourism circuits. This innovation, a joint effort by the Brome-Missisquoi CLD, participating vineyards and Tourisme Cantons de l’Est, is expected to expand: on one side towards Magog and on the other side into the Montérégie region. In wine country, you will meet the enthusiastic artisans who tend the vineyards and provide an exclusive taste of the fruit of their labours: Quebec wines. Depending on individual interest and curiosity, a visit to a vineyard can take from one and a half to two hours. The apex of any visit in wine country is the tasting session – a chance to experience the amazing diversity and quality of our products.
